Kanye West wants to be in high end fashion, he wants to be known as more than a rapper. He wants the brilliance that is Kanye West to be known by everyone. He is not some producer from Chicago who was responsible for the one of the greatest rap albums ever (Blueprint), neither is he some awkward dude who made back pack rap cool, not an wannabe producer rapper, hell Kanye has a collection of albums that could go toe to toe with whatever artist you would like to mention in conversation. Dude can spit he has made a living a very good living off of music but he wants more , and he has the right to this is America we want it we find a way we get it thats how we work in America ,that’s how we work in Hip Hop, a culture that has mainstream America in a chokehold right now . Jay Z is gold, he owns Corporate America, Ellen was Nikki Minaj for Halloween, Hannah Montanna is a rapper!!!! Hip Hop has the… it right now. Yet Kanye West is telling us in every presser, on every rant, anywhere he gets a chance to mention it,
Kanye tells us we are being held back. We are being held back because he is not being treated right in the high end fashion world, and after all he is Kanye West. Nike you seen what the Yeezys did, Kanye should be able to get a meeting anytime right? How dare any high end fashion company not want Kanye apart of the new innovative wave this is not fair. YES! There that part you right about Kanye, that’s where I agree with you, no it is not fair. Nothing is fair especially if you’re us, if your hip hop, if your young, black, creative and outspoken things will never be fair. They don’t want to give you the keys to the vehicle to change the world. Your Hip Hop, you’re the hip hop culture, the outspoken loud brash force in the room that no one wants to blast off. So as hip hop what do we do, we build our own vehicles we don’t ask for keys. We make ways from no ways. If we were Master P we get an 80/20 deal , if we were Cash Money we walk up to the table with the work we put in and we walk away with 30 plus million dollars. You know what we are Kanye we are Jay Z selling one million copies to Samsung before the actual release date, we are setting new rules. We are Nipssy Hussle selling 100 dollar cds to grass roots finds who gone spend it if they have it. We are NWA platinum with no radio play. Kanye, what we are not in Hip Hop are crybabies!! We don’t give a fuck about paparazzi, we don’t spazz on the Nike CEO for turning down meetings with us. I get the point Ye is making, though my personal judgment is harsh I do get it. I want Ye to educate us though don’t just tell us they won’t let you in show the rest of us how to get in with you. Kanye has a loud enough voice to teach high end fashion, take all the knowledge he has and spread it amongst the youth the younger generations of hip hop. Show black males you don’t have to be gay to be into fashion design, find that diamond in the rough woman that has a dream but no means to get in the game. What I’m saying is Kanye is talking to the wrong people the higher ups don’t care, we do and he is forgetting that. Educate hip hop about high end fashion, let us know why we pay what we pay for Gucci, Fendi, Prada or Vera Wang. Start small and make your own high fashion brand and build it up, why? Because that’s what we do in hip hop that’s how we fight, we don’t cry, we create demand, and Ye can do that if he talks to us instead of cry’s to them. Teach it, sell it, show us, educate us on the topic prove the importance of Urban America being in high end fashion. Let us all knock at the doors of Gucci and Vera Wang with you because you put us on it and we want in, not because you cry about it and want us to care with you.
